.
Shima Moslem stated that Bangladesh Mahila Parishad is a movement-based organization that works not only for women’s rights but also for women’s dignity. She emphasized that the organization works to change discriminatory social attitudes.
She added that progress in laws, policies, and social spaces—where equality between men and women has advanced—has been achieved through the women’s movement.

She expressed concern that in recent times, child marriage has increased, female education rates have declined, and discrimination within educational institutions and workplaces has intensified, pushing women backward.
In this context, the syllabus of the certificate course was designed to promote a gender-friendly society through a multidimensional perspective. The objective of the course is to ensure that students from diverse disciplines can apply their learning in various fields, become skilled human resources, and develop gender sensitivity.
Dr. Mujeri stated that he has long been involved with the course content of this nature. Based on years of research and experience, he observed that such subjects are not only theoretical but essential in many aspects of life. Without these foundations, it is not possible to build society, family, or the state.

He added that in a patriarchal society, changing mindsets cannot be achieved through a single effort; it requires continuous work.
Dr. Fauzia Moslem stated that the women’s movement has been working for many years to establish women’s rights and dignity. The topics covered in the course are part of the multidimensional work of the women’s movement and must be continuously practiced.

She noted that although significant progress has been made in women’s advancement through the implementation of international commitments such as the Beijing Declaration, various strategic barriers are now being created that hinder the establishment of women’s rights.
In this context, she called upon all participants of the course, as well as others, to work in the spirit of the Liberation War.
