Citizen’s Platform for SDG implementation and BMP jointly organized a dialogue

Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and Citizen’s Platform for SDG implementation  jointly organized a dialogue on “Global Development Agenda and Rights of Women: New consideration” on 18th April, 2017 at 3 P.M. at CIRDAP Auditorium.  Meher Afroze Chumki, The Honorable State Minister of Women and Children Affairs Ministry was the chief guest of the program.  Economist  and former Advisor of Care Taker Govt. Prof. Wahiduddin Mahmud and Dr. Shamsul Alam Member (Senior Secretary) of Planning Commission were the special Guests. Ad. Salma Ali, Executive Director of BNWLA and Selima Ahmed , President of Women Chamber of Commerce were the discussants in the event.

Rakhi Das Pukayastha, Joint General Secretary, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad presented the Key Note Paper.

Dr. Deboprio Bhattacharya, convener of Citizen’s Platform for SDG implementation chaired the program while Maleka Banu General Secretary delivered the welcome speech.

    Advocate Sultana Kamal observed that good governance and rule of law will be critical to achieve SDGs. The government needs to focus on strengthening institutional capacities to establish good governance which is important for development to sustain in a progressive and democratic country, she said.
