Their patron Pakistan is still rendering support to them and has taken deplorable stand to protect war criminals.
BMP further noted “the lack of understanding, unity and vision among the pro- liberation, progressive, democratic forces lies deep in the present crisis of Bangladesh. This has further aggravated the situation is in this back ground. The destruction activities are being carried out by the religious fundamentalist forces with the support and active participation of main opposition party BNP and the 18 party alliance.
BMP noted with concern that religious fundamental forces are manipulating the main opposition party to make the nation and the people their hostages. In the statement Bangladesh Mahila parishad expressed concern on the continuous oppression against the minority people across the country. It observed with concern and anxiety that in places like Bonogram of Sathia, Pabna, Satkhira, Pirojpur, Lalmonirhat,, Faridpur, Dinajpur, Mymensing, Patuakhali, Bagerhat other places not only in dark night but in broad day light attack organized on the household of Hindu community, their temples were set on fire, women became victims of sexual violence. They aimed to force the minority Hindues to leave the country in silence.
The violent nature of the so called protest movement has been condemned by BMP. It noted “ in the name of hartal, strike, the terrorist attacks has disturbed the public life. Every day they attacked with pettrol bomb and set the transport on fire. Thereby causing the death of common man and women as well as children. So far 64 people were burnt alive and about of 161 person were assassinated on political ground within 54 strike days.
