Looking for a Finance Officer to join the Strengthening Intergenerational and Inclusive Women’s
Movement in Bangladesh project. Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and Bonhishikha are jointly
implementing this project.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Prepare and administer project and organisation budgets in full compliance with the project’s
financial, procurement and administrative rules, regulations, policies, and recording and
reporting systems. - Support formulating the budget, control allotments, monitor expenditures, and prepare
revisions according to the project’s needs. - Track appropriate and timely use of financial resources.
- Ensure Monthly, Quarterly & Yearly Financial Budget monitoring and budget variance and
share reports with the organisation focal person, programme persons and donor agency. - Prepare project related financial reports and supporting documents such as bills, invoices,
receipts, challans etc. by ensuring timely and accurate documentation to submit quarterly donor
reports. - Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and debit, credit, contract, and journal
vouchers, and ensure accurate voucher entries and postings in the accounting system. - Ensure VAT & Tax deduction from bills as per government rule and get signatures of those
concerned on the bill. Prepare and submit treasury challans (VAT & Tax) to the government
treasury. - Maintain petty cash and ensure purchase and payment of items/services from petty cash
maintaining proper bills and documentation. - Provide administrative, logistics, procurement and financial support to the key project team
for activities as well as for all project-related events. - Keep project team and donor informed for timely actions/decisions and review status reports
for quality control.
Educational Requirements
Masters in Accounting or Finance or relevant fields.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2-3 years experience in any reputed organisation in a similar position.
- Experience working with or for UN agencies and preparing FACE reports is preferred but not
mandatory.

- Conceptual clarity on feminist and women’s movement; and gender equality.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication both in English & Bengali.
- Proficient in using email and drive, MS Suite especially MS Word and MS Excel.
- A strong team player with an inclusive mindset, possessing excellent interpersonal skills to
work effectively with two organisations simultaneously as well as collaborate with activists and
partners at national, regional, and grassroots levels, demonstrating sensitivity and
understanding.
