On 23rd June 2025, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad successfully organized a day-long content creation workshop titled “Social Media: Women’s Human Rights Movement” at their central office in Dhaka. The event was held from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Anwara Begum-Munira Khan Auditorium , bringing together participants, trainers, and organizational leaders for an intensive session on digital advocacy and content development for women’s rights.

The workshop was inaugurated with a session presided over by Dr. Fauzia Moslem, President of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad. Maleka Banu, General Secretary, delivered the welcome speech, while Shima Moslem, Joint General Secretary, spoke on the role of social media in advancing women’s human rights movements. The trainers included Sandip Kumar Mistri, a documentary filmmaker, and Farzana Afroz, content writer, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.

In her speech, Maleka Banu emphasized the necessity of creative content to counter gender-biased narratives on social media and called upon young participants to utilize their training for advocacy. Seema Moslem highlighted the organization’s evolving digital strategies to combat negative portrayals of women online. Dr. Fauzia Moslem stressed the importance of promoting women’s rights through impactful content to challenge systemic discrimination.

• Web and social media content development
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Storytelling techniques
• Scriptwriting
• Smartphone videography
A hands-on session allowed participants to apply their learning.
20 trainees (students and staff), along with central committee members, trainers, and officials—totaling around 50 attendees.
