Family, society and the state must come forward to prevent suppression against women and children
Social Action Committee ( SAC) is a platform of Women’s rights, Human rights, Development and Socio- Cultural and Professional organizations . It was formed in 2002 by the initiative of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad with 25 organizations towards building and strengthening united movement for ensuring social justice and human rights of women.
Since then SAC raised its voice unitedly against Violence Against Women and Girls, Child marriage, Communal and political violence and all other forms of discrimination against women. Social Action Committee contributed in formulation of National Women Development Policy in the light of constitution of Bangladesh and BPFA and strongly advocates for its full implementation. SAC sustains its movement against all ill motives & activities of all fundamentalist against women rights and women’s advancement.
Bangladesh Mahila Parihad has been playing the role as Secretariat of Social Action Committee since its inception. Now 66 organizations are the member of Social Action Committee.
It is the largest forum of women and human rights organizations in Bangladesh .
