On Sunday, August 11th, at 11:00 am, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad ( BMP) organized a human chain in front of the Press Club. The event was a protest against communal attacks and looting, and a call for peace and order in the country.
The written statement on behalf of the organization was presented by the General Secretary, Maleka Banu. The event was conducted by the Advocacy and Lobby Director, Jana Goswami.
The meeting was presided over by the President of the Central Committee, Dr. Fauzia Moslem. She urged everyone, including women’s societies, to work towards building a democratic, equitable, and humane society.
Leaders from the central and Dhaka metropolitan committees of BMP were present at the human chain event.
