On the 7th September, 2022, a paralegal training was held for young women members of Dhaka Metropolitan Branch under the initiative of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP), Central Legal Aid Sub- Committee. Mahatabun Nesa, President of Dhaka Metropolitan Branch, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP), presided over the event. A welcome speech was given by Rehana Yunus, General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan Branch, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP); The training program was moderated by Shamima Afroz Irin, Secretary of Legal Aid Sub-Committee, Dhaka Metropolitan Branch, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) .
Adv. Masuda Rehana Begum, Joint General Secretary of Central Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) imparted training on Conventional Family Law and proposed Uniform Family Code (UFC). Rekha Shaha, Secretary of Central Legal Aid Sub- Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad(BMP) imparted training on gender concepts and women’s human rights. Ram Lal Raha, Senior Advocate of Legal Aid Sub-Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad(BMP), discussed about practical work procedures to prevent violence against women and girls while Adv. Fatema Khatun, Advocate of Legal Aid Sub-Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad(BMP), discussed about conventional laws and responsibilities of young people.
A total of 45 people including trainees, central committee leaders, and officials attended the training.
