On May 24-25, 2024, a two-day training program for Dhaka Divisional District Organizers was held at BRAC Learning Center, Faridpur, under the initiative of Central Training, Research and Library Sub-Committee of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and in coordination with Faridpur District Branch. A total of 47 organizers from 9 districts (Dhaka Metropolitan, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Tongi, Savar, Faridpur, Madhukhali, Rajbari and Madaripur) were present in this training (except Narshingdi) out of 10 districts of Dhaka division.
Most of those who attended the training as trainees had not taken the training of the center before. The inaugural session of the two-day training program was held on May 24, 2024.
Faridpur district branch general secretary Hosneara Khanam was special guest in the program and district branch president Professor Shipra Roy presided over the event. Freedom fighter and retired principal Abdul Motaleb was present as the chief guest. In the opening session, Rina Ahmed, the secretary of the Central Committee for Training, Research and Library also spoke.
In this two-day training program, training is provided on 6 topics.
Topics covered in the events are:
1) Concept of Gender and Women’s Empowerment: Women in Perspective
2) Practical action to prevent women’s rights and violence against women in existing laws
3) United Nations Initiative and CEDAW Certificate on Women’s Rights
4) Movement of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and what steps to take.
5) Activities of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad in the light of the declaration and constitution
6) Actual workflow of the organization

3) Suraiya Salam, Vice President, Madukhali District Branch
The trainees also conducted two group work on women’s violence and organization. In charge of conducting three sessions of this two-day training were-

The two-day training program ended with the distribution of certificates among the trainees and the speech of Faridpur District Branch President Prof. Shipra Roy.
