Training for Khulna Divisional Organizers

On August 11 and 12, 2023, a two-day training program was organized by the Central Training, Research, and Library Sub-Committee of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP), in collaboration with the Khulna District Branch. A total of 56 organizers from 8 districts of the Khulna division (Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, Jhenaidah, Kumarkhali, Kushtia, Magura, Satkhira) participated in the training. The resource persons of the Central Committee played the role of trainers in various subjects. Most of the participants who attended the training were new organizers who had not received training at the center before.




In this two-day training program, training was provided on five topics. The topics of discussion were:

• Concepts of gender and women’s empowerment: Perspective of women

• Current laws on women’s rights and strategies for preventing violence against women: Actions for young women

• Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) and activities of the organization in light of the Declaration and Constitution

• United Nations Initiative and CEDAW Charter on Women’s Rights

• The actual work of the organization and the youth organizers


Resource persons of this training were:

Umme Salma, Organizing Secretary, Central Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad;
Rina Ahmed, Training, Research and Library secretary, Central Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad;
Rekha Saha, Legal Aid Secretary, Central Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad;
Adv. Maksuda Akter Laily, Member, Central Action Sub-Committee, Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.

The two-day training program concludes with the distribution of certificates among the trainees and the President’s speech.
